The programme started with welcome speech by Prof. J. Srinivasan Director of DCCC IIs. Followed by Prof Dr H Paramesh introduced the chairperson and speaker and gave introductory remarks.
The Guest Speaker was Prof. V. Ravi, Former Senior Professor and Head NIMHANS as public Health Virology, Bengaluru.
Chairperson Prof. T. Jacob John Vellore gave excellent closing summary of the talk and conducted question-answer session, while Dr Jagadish Chinappa was lead discussant. Vote of thanks was given by Dr C. P. Ravi Kumar, National Secretary COMHAD India Chapter.
The total beneficiaries were about 60.

Felicitation of Hon. VC MUHS Lt. General Dr Madhuri Kanitkar, Nagpur, MS, India, 29 March 2022.

Commonwealth Association for Health and Disabilities (COMHAD) UK along with Association of Paediatrics (AOP) Nagpur and Neonatology Forum (NNF) Nagpur Chapter had organized an interactive meeting with followed by felicitation of the Honourable Vice Chancellor of MUHS Lt. General Dr Madhuri Kanitkar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, (Retd.) at Hotel Centre Point Nagpur, MS, India on 23 March 2022.
This was to exchange ideas on Health Care of Children and Educational opportunities through the University and to discuss about the Child Health welfare plans to be implemented in future with the help of MUHS.
On behalf of AOP Nagpur the memorandum was presented by Dr Rajkumar Kiratkar President AOP Nagpur. Both Dr. Rajkumar Kiratkar and Dr. Vasant Khalatkar Organizing Chairperson for National Conference on Allergy (Allercon) urged the Vice Chancellor to start courses on Immunology and Allergy as majority of the children suffer from these ailments nowadays. These should be part of the Curriculum for medical Undergraduates, they added.
Dr Kiratkar in addition presented other good suggestions like three cadres of medical services like administrative services, teaching services and clinical services providers should be opened in Medical Colleges, to get specialized in that field of interest of medical graduates. It can be a part of the medical graduate curriculum also to know and develop interest in it. With this the medical graduate can opt for the cadre of his/her choice and can plan for the future. This will definitely boost the betterment of delivery medical services at every level with excel.
  On behalf of NNF Nagpur Dr Milind Mandlik handed over the request to introduce 'Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Program' (NRP) in the MBBS curriculum. At present NRP workshop is structured by NGOs like IAP and NNF under the First Golden Minute project of Resuscitation programme.
The NRP programme aims at imparting basic skills of Neonatal Resuscitation in the medical profession. It aims at successful resuscitation in the first minute of birth, thus improving not only survival; but also helps in minimizing long term morbidity. If this program is included in the MBBS Curriculum, it would certainly help to achieve our goal of reducing Neonatal Mortality Rate. It can work as a cost effective intervention in achieving the target NMR. 
Dr. Manjusha Giri President AHA Nagpur Chapter stressed the subjects of Adolescent Health programmes should get separate training as it is mostly un-attended by the medical fraternity not specialized in this field.
Dr. Yashwant Patil International President COMHAD UK in his welcome speech, made aware of the assistance given by the UK based NGO – COMHAD, about training and updating skills of Healthcare workers of member countries for promotion of health and prevention of diseases.
  Dr.Uday Bodhankar Executive Director COMHAD and Patron of AOP Nagpur made a welcome speech and read the citation of Scroll of Honour.
Dr, M.S. Rawat, a veteran Paediatrician and senior Advisor of COMHAD UK felicitated Dr. Madhuri Kanitkar with Shawl, Shreefal and a Scroll of Honour.
   In reply to the felicitation, Hon VC Dr Madhuri Kanitkar who was overwhelmed with the kind lovely gesture shown by NGOs like COMHAD, AOP and NNF, accepted the proposals laid down by various NGOs present and assured of any possible kind help from MUHS.
She appreciated the three cadres of medical services for the specialization after medical graduation for the better delivery of medical services to the community.
She also appreciated the COMHAD work of promotion of health and prevention of diseases, through imparting the education to medical fraternity and the community.  
Prominent present personalities were Regional Director MUHS Dr Sanjeev Chaudhary, CIAP EB Member Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, Dean IGGMC Dr C Bokade, Dr Sanjay Pakhmode, Dr Suresh Ninawe, Dr Anup Radke, Dr R G Patil, Dr Girish Charde, Dr Meena Deshmukh, Dr Prajakta Kaduskar, Dr Anil Raut , Dr Avinash Gawande, Dr Pankaj Agrawal, Dr Yogesh Papde and Dr Kush Jhunjhunwala and respected senior paediatricians from the city. Total delegates present were about 30. 
Dr Archana Jaiswal conducted the proceedings of the programme and Dr. Pritesh Khatwar Secretary AOP Nagpur proposed the vote of thanks.

Webinar on Principles of Early Identification of Autism Spectrum, was organized by COMHAD India Chapter, IAP BPS & Lakeside Education Trust, Bengaluru, to celebrate World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April 2022, on Virtual platform. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr C P Ravi Kumar in absentia of Prof Dr H Paramesh.
The Scientific Chairperson Dr Kirthika Rajaram, Consultant Developmental Paediatrician, Motherhood Hospital, Bengaluru first introduced the subject of Autism and introduced the guest speakers and later on conducted the proceedings of the programme.
The scientific session started with first talk on Learning the Art of Early Identification of Autism in children by Dr Nandini Mundkur Director, Centre of Child Development and Disabilities, Bengaluru.
This was followed by a talk on Early Intervention Strategies and Models for working with Children & Families by Dr Chhaya Prasad, Director, Centre for Autism and Intellectual Developmental Disorders, ASHA, Chandigarh.
At the end there was questions and answers session. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr C P Ravi Kumar.
The total beneficiaries were about 110.

COMHAD Endorsement to Support Promotion of KMC during KMCCON 2022, Bhopal, MP, India, 9-10 April 2022.

COMHAD endorsed its’ support for Promotion of Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) during plenary session dated 10 th April 2022 of 6 th National Conference of KMC (KMCCON) held at Auditorium AIIMS Bhopal on 9 th and 10 th April 2022 in Hybrid mode. The conference was jointly organized by the KMC Foundation India, Department of Neonatology and Department of Pediatrics AIIMS Bhopal and was supported by Dept. of Pediatrics Gandhi Medical College, IAP MP, NNF MP, UNICEF MP, and National Health Mission MP.
COMHAD was represented in person by Dr Yashwant Patil International President COMHAD and Dr Uday Bodhankar Executive Director COMHAD with the kind invitation of Dr Shashi Vani Managing Trustee of KMC Foundation and Past National President NNF.
The theme of the conference was “Time to Translate Evidence Into Action: Keep Mother & Bay Together” The aim of the conference was to propagate KMC in central region of India and assist training Pediatrician and nurses involved in mother and child care as it is known that KMC is a time tested low cost intervention to reduce neonatal and infant mortality.
The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Honourable Chief Guest Shri Vishwas Sarang Cabinet Minister Medical Education & Bhopal Gas Tragedy & Relief Govt. of MP with his inspiring speech. Guests of honour were Dr Naveen Thacker Global President IPA, Dr Uday Bodhankar Executive Director COMHAD and Dr Yashwant Patil International President COMHAD
This was followed by endorsement with a pledge of a statement “A Commitment to Action” by Various professional bodies and other stakeholders of health and development of the people of India, to support KMC for its promotion.
After the inaugural function there were stimulating scientific sessions by both national and international faculties where all evidence based and recent advances were put forth eloquently by all speakers.

Webinar on Accessibility In Public Transport, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, 18th June 2022

Rotary District 3190 Bengaluru and Rotary Bengaluru Abilities in partnership with COMHAD and other NGOs like FKCCI, HTBF, organized webinar on Accessibility in Public Transport in hybrid mode at Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) hall on 18-6-2022. This was possible with the efforts of dynamic enthusiastic International Coordinator of COMHAD Rotarian Prof Elizabeth Cherian P.
The conference was aimed to address the present status, desired implementation, best practices in neighbouring states or in other developed countries and the government’s plans and policies to implement them in public transport systems and public transport stations like bus stands, railway stations and public offices.
The eminent speakers were from NGOs working on disability, public and private transport operators, government policy makers. Through their deliberations various plans were discussed and final recommendations were formulated, which would be forwarded to the concerned authority for implementation for the welfare of specially abled of the society.
The opening speech with short introduction of Rotary Bengaluru, was given by Rtn Uday Kumar, District Governor Elect 2023-2024. This was followed by inauguration of the conference at the hands of Chief Guest Honourable Lathakumari Director, Empowerment of Differently Abled & Senior Citizens, Bengaluru, with her inspiring speech.
Session started with guiding speeches by eminent speakers like Dr I S Prasad, Chartered Accountant & President FKCCI. Other speakers were Dr Uday Bodhankar Executive Director COMHAD, Dr Yashwant Patil International President COMHAD, Shri Apoorv Kulkarni from Ola Research Centre, Shri Bernard Kadasia President Alliance for Health Promotion Geneva, and Shri Shivaji Rao from Help The Blind Foundation.
This was followed by Panel Discussion: Practices and Plans. Panel discussion was moderated by Prof Elizabeth and distinguished Panellists – from various organizations concerned with disability and public transport accessibility in general, were Rtn Mohan Kumar Rotary Bengaluru Prime, Shri Praveen Kumar Motivation India, Shri George Sabastian Enable India, Prof Dr H Paramesh National President COMHAD India Chapter and Visiting Prof Divecha Centre for Climate Change, IISc Bengaluru, Shri Riyaz Hussain Manager Therapy Services & Assistive Technology & Mobility India.
The programme was compared by the members of Rotary Bengaluru Abilities and was attended by about more than 100 delegates on and off the virtual platform.

International Yoga Day 2022 Celebration, Nagpur, MS, India, 21th June 2022

International Yoga day was celebrated at CRC (Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation, Empowerment for PWDs) Nagpur jointly in collaboration with COMHAD UK, AOP Nagpur, AHA Nagpur, AIOTA Nagpur Branch and Govt. Ayurvedic Medical College Nagpur on 21 June 2022 at 7 am at Krida Prabodhini Hall, Yashwant Stadium Dhantoli Nagpur.

The theme of this year – “Yoga For Humanity”.

Yoga experts from Govt. Ayurvedic Medical College Nagpur oriented and guided the delegates through various Asanas, Pranayam, and Meditation for fitness and promotion of the health.

About 50 delegates were benefitted with their gracious presence.
