NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM – RECENT TRENDS IN CONTROL OF ZOONOTIC DISEASES, NAGPUR, INDIA, 6 th JULY 2010.
National Symposium – Recent Trends in Control of Zoonotic Diseases was organized in association with National Association for Welfare of Animal & Research (NAWAR) & Indian Medical Association (IMA) on 6 th July 2010 at Nagpur, India. Faculties and participants were from medical and veterinary fraternity. About 500 delegates were present. Scientific deliberations on recent trends in control of Zoonotic diseases were discussed. It was concluded and endorsed that, for control of these Zoonotic diseases coordination of both medical and veterinary fraternities is must.
NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC SESSION OF COMHAD AT PEDICON 2012, GURGAON, INDIA, 20 th JANUARY 2012.
With the kind help and cooperation of the then National President Dr Rohit Agrawal, COMHAD Scientific Symposium was organized during National Conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics – PEDICON 2012 held on 20 th January 2012, Friday at Gurgaon, India. Faculties and participants were from COMHAD and IAP. About 300 delegates were present. Scientific deliberations based on theme “Save The Women and Child” were discussed. Prof Dr Md Sirajul Islam and Prof Dr Kathry Currow were international faculties and Dr Sunil Khaparde DDG NACO MOH Govt. of India and Dr Baya Kishore DC Training MOH & FW Govt. of India were national faculties. It was concluded and endorsed that, for betterment of maternal and child health introduction of IMNCI programme at every level of health care and undue maternal care right from adolescent age till birth of a child is essential.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF COMHAD & 9 th NCDC CONFERENCE, NAGPUR, MS, INDIA, 14 th,15 th & 16 th SEPTEMBER 2012.
COMHAD Scientific Symposium was organized in association with 9 th National Childhood Disability Conference with preconference workshops. The event was held on 14 th 15 th and 16 th September 2012 at Nagpur, India. The theme of the conference was “Challenges to Opportunities Together We Can”. The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Hon. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India Shri Mukul Wasnik on 15 th September 2012, in presence of Hon Minister Government of Maharashtra Shri Rajendra Mulak. The international faculties were Dr. Catherine Macclain, Dr Patrica Osbourne, Dr Gauri Bhusari (UK), and Dr Waheeda Pagarkar. Other faculties and participants were from COMHAD, Pediatricians from Indian Academy of Pediatrics, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Community physicians, Neurologist, ENT Specialist, Neuro-developmental specialists, and para-medicals. About 500 delegates were present. Scientific deliberations were excellent and were applauded by all.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF COMHAD 2013 KOLHAPUR , MS , INDIA , 30th JUNE 2013.
National Conference of COMHAD on Childhood Disability 2013, was organized by COMHAD India Chapter in association with Indian Academy of Pediatrics Kolhapur Branch, under the auspicious of COMHAD UK, at Hotel Victor Palace, Kolhapur, MS, India on 30 th June 2013.
The theme of the conference was “Create Awareness Through Action”
The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Dr Mrudula Phadke, Director NRHM, Consultant UNICEF and Former VC MUHS Nashik, It was a very successful conference attended by about 300 delegates from every corner of the medical and social field working for the welfare of specially challenged children. The eminent National faculties actively participated as Faculties for Scientific Sessions held.
NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC SESSION OF COMHAD AT PEDICON 2017,BENGALURU, KARNATAKA, INDIA, JANUARY 2017.
With the kind help and cooperation of the then National President of Indian Academy of Pediatrics COMHAD Scientific Symposium was organized during National Conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics – PEDICON 2017 held on 21st January 2017, at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Eminent faculties like Dr M. S. Mahadeviah, Dr Suresh Rao Aroor, Dr Satish Girimaji and other faculties from COMHAD and IAP of National repute participated to deliver Guest lectures and Panel discussion. About 300 delegates were present.
NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC SESSION OF COMHAD AT PEDICON 2018,NAGPUR, MS, INDIA, 4 th TO 5 th JANUARY 2018.
With the kind help and cooperation of the then National President of Indian Academy of Pediatrics Dr Santosh Soans, COMHAD Scientific Symposium was organized during National Conference of Indian Academy of Pediatrics – PEDICON 2018 held on 4 th to 7 th January 2018, at Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Reshimbagh, Nagpur, MS, India. Faculties and participants were from COMHAD and IAP. About 300 delegates were present. Scientific deliberations based on theme “Priority 2018: Healthy New Born Happy Teens” were discussed.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF COMHAD 2019, KOLHAPUR, MS, INDIA, 22, 23 & 24 NOVEMBER 2019.
National Conference of COMHAD was organized under the auspices of COMHAD UK, by Department of Pediatrics D Y Patil Medical College Kolhapur, D Y. Patil Education Society (Deemed to be University) Kolhapur, Kolhapur Academy of Pediatrics and COMHAD India Chapter at Conference Hall, D Y Patil Medical College, Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur.
The theme of the conference was “Through Adversities To The Stars”.
The eminent International and National renowned faculties in the field of disability and rehabilitation were invited to share their knowledge and experience. Faculties in the field of Pediatrics, Physiotherapy, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Occupational therapy, Developmental Pediatrics actively participated sharing their views on disability and rehabilitation.
The conference began on 22nd November 2019 with TWO preconference workshops – First on “IYCF Practices” for nurses and nursing students. This was to create awareness about proper feeding practices in children to keep their nutrition optimal. The workshop was conducted by Dr.Sudha Reddy (Dean Principal KLE Hospital Nursing College, Belgaum), Dr. Janaki Shinde (HOD, Child Health Nursing Kolhapur), Dr.Santhosh Nimbalkar (Consultant Pediatrician, Morya Hospital, Kolhapur) and Dr. Vijay Mali (Consultant Neonatologist, DYP Hospital, Kolhapur). It was attended by 60 delegates.
The second workshop was on “Developmental Screening & Developmental Disabilities all you need to know” for doctors and postgraduate students. This was conducted to create awareness about the early identification of developmental problems in children. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Leena Srivastav, Developmental Pediatrician, and Neurologist BVP Pune, Dr. Kashmiri Badbade, Developmental Pediatrician, Dr. Shalmali Ranmale and Dr. Dipti Chavan Development and Behavioral Pediatrician. It was attended by 45 candidates.
On the same day evening, Public Forum was arranged to create awareness regarding managing children with disabilities with special reference to their behavioral problems. Dr. Sameer Dalwai, well known Developmental Pediatrician from Mumbai addressed the gathering. Followed by his guest lecture, there was a question-answer session that was actively participated by parents, doctors, social workers, students. This was attended by almost 350 participants.
The main conference began on Saturday 23 rd November 2019 with the registration of delegates and distribution of delegate kits which contained souvenirs with abstracts of most of the faculty speeches. This was followed by academic Scientific Sessions with Guest lectures and Panel Discussions.
In the evening after the scientific sessions were over there was an inauguration function. The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Prof. Dr. Shimpa Sharma Vice-Chancellor D Y Patil Education Society (Deemed to be University) Kolhapur. The Guests of honor were Dr. Bakul Parekh National President IAP 2020, Dr. V V Bhonsale Registrar, and Dr. Rakesh Sharma Dean. Conference Souvenir was released. This was followed by a Cultural program where the performers were from institutes working for Specially Challenged children.
The second day of the conference began with a research paper presentation and poster presentation. Postgraduate students from pediatrics, physiotherapy, and allied branches presented their work related to disability. Their posters were displayed at the conference venue. Their work was appreciated by the delegates. This was followed by day-long scientific sessions with Guest lectures and Panel Discussions.
The conference ended with appreciating comments by delegates and a vote of thanks by the Organizing Chairman Dr. Anil Kurane. The Scientific content was appreciated by most of the delegates. Current limitations in the management of disabled children were discussed and ways to overcome these limitations were discussed.
It was a very successful conference attended by about 350 delegates from every corner of the medical and social field working for the welfare of specially challenged children from all over India and abroad.
